This comprehensive qualification is designed for learners with professional responsibility for the care of children and babies. The course provides in-depth knowledge and practical competence to deal with a wide range of paediatric first aid situations.

Meets the requirements stated in the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
Assessment Method
The qualification is assessed through both practical demonstration and written assessment – learners must pass both to be awarded the qualification. There is no formal grading; learners either pass or are referred. Practical scenarios recreate real-life situations, and learners will be asked related oral questions by the trainer/assessor during the assessment.
Certification
On successful completion, delegates receive the Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid.
Certificate Validity
3 years from the date of achievement.
Requalification
Learners must complete the full 12-hour course to requalify.
Physical Requirements
Due to the practical nature of the assessment, learners must be able to get to the floor unaided and successfully demonstrate all required elements of the practical assessment independently, with the casualty on the floor. This includes demonstrating effective cardiopulmonary resuscitation on a manikin at floor level.
