The key to this is Knightwood Training values and most importantly our trainers and quality assurance staff, is integrity and accountability, to themselves and the company.  They know the value of good quality training, and what lack of or poor-quality service and the consequences it can have on individuals and organisations, both short term and long term.

Brendan Jeynes

My current roles within Security and Law Enforcement:

Firstly, I work for West Midlands Police, as trainer in delivering Public Personal Safety Training (PPST), my other role within WMP is being the lead trainer and course developer for First Aid /Enhanced First Aid training (FREC 3), this also includes quality assuring trainers in First Aid delivery and assessing their competence.

My second role is running & Lead trainer for Knightwood Training, which was set up in 2005 to deliver SIA approved training in Security and CCTV, as well as delivering training to hospitality, and these courses ranged from licensee to all types of First Aid Training.

Skills:

Skills which I have developed during my 30 years of working in security/Law Enforcement and training world, for me is down to two key skills:

Having good communication

In my Police trainer role, I have to explained concepts, instructions, and processes in a way that learners, trainers and stakeholders can easily understand, this has been through trial and error over the years, learning that poor communication leads to confusion, mistakes, and ineffective training sessions. When running Knightwood training I have learned that when approaching potential clients, who require training, is to listen and not assume what they want, I have found this is a key skill in getting the right bespoke course for them that suits their wants and needs, and listening to feedback from learners and the trainers who work for me is essential.

Experience

I have over 30 years working in Military, Security and the Law Enforcement areas of industry, but they have not been wasted years, I can say I have been blessed with working and learning from professionals from all three of these sectors. This has given me a fantastic foundation of knowledge, coupled with working in frontline security roles, ranging from Late Night Economy, sporting events, festivals, managing security teams, to organising outdoor events, working in a main city centre CCTV control room and keeping my Enhanced First Aid skills up to date, as well an occasional responder for West Midlands Ambulance.

My Purpose after working and delivering training for over 30 years, is to give people who work frontline, the training, and appropriate skills, to keep themselves safe, and that of others, and that passion is still burning within.
